”The music of Seán Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band flows from the mystical confluence of the Ganges River and the Mississippi Delta—the deep bhakti tradition of Indian devotional chanting fused with the cultural cross-currents that so enrich the music of the group’s hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. The result is music of majestic musical and emotional range—a heart journey from darkness to light, wrought from the homespun cloth of gospel, blues, soul, country, rock, Celtic folk and other musical influences, all filtered through the magical Afro-Caribbean-inflected rhythmic flair of the Crescent City.

YOGA
In addition to creating The Wild Lotus Band, Seán is the founder of Wild Lotus Yoga in his native New Orleans, a pioneering studio that has introduced yoga to thousands of students over it’s 22 year history. He currently works with the leadership team of the visionary AyurPrana organization in Asheville, NC where he works as the Director of The Asheville Yoga Center, curates the center’s inspiring teacher training programs, and works closely with The AyurPrana Listening Room— Asheville’s home for transcendent music and spiritual exploration. In all these roles, he relishes creating a playful, tender, brave space for people to open their voices and hearts, sing, and embrace their innate creativity.
